Ocado Intelligent Automation’s OSRS has been included in the 2024 Top Software & Tech award list. Featured by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazines, the awards spotlight new software and technology solutions designed to provide automation, efficiency and visibility in the supply chain space.

Early this year, Ocado Intelligent Automation announced three major enhancements to its Ocado Storage and Retrieval System, which further streamline warehouse operations and minimize costs.
- Faster, lighter grid robot: The new-series robot is three times lighter than the previous design and consumes less energy. The weight reduction, resulting from 3D printed construction, requires less energy to fetch and drop off bins with inventory at high speed.
- Lighter grid for quick build-out: The lighter bots allowed for a lighter, next-generation grid. The new grid design can be quickly and easily installed into almost any greenfield or brownfield facility of any size or shape, even on multiple stories or seismic regions, with bin lifts able to connect the grid across floors.
- On-grid Robotic Pick arm: With a theoretical picking rate of up to 630 units per hour, the on-grid Robotic Pick arm uses robust computer vision and sensing to identify and pick items carefully and accurately, fully autonomously. The Robotic Pick, mounted on top of the grid, reduces travel times to and from picking stations, order preparation times and labor required to prepare orders.
